Odds to Win 2015 NFL SUPER BOWL XLIX after week 1

Let’s take a look at the top 6 odds to win Super Bowl XLIX (according to Bet365) and who I think will win based on what I saw in week 1 of the 2014 NFL Season, this is something I will do each week during the season.

Team: Bet365 odds – weekly result

SeattlehelmetSeattle Seahawks: 7/2 – Won 36-16 vs Packers. In my opinion the Seahawks looked the most dominating of all the teams in week 1. The return of (injured) Percy Harvin just adds a whole other dimension to their offense that makes their look offense look even more formidable. Their defense showed in week 1 that they’ll continue to be outstanding. This team is scary good.

Denver Broncos: 4/1- Won 31-24 vs Colts. In the 1st half of their week 1 game versus the Colts both the offense and defense were clicking. In the 2nd half the defense had a difficult time stopping Andrew Luck and his offense. To be fair they played a solid opponent in the Colts but I’ll be interested to see what kind of points they’ll put up and what the score will be when they put a full game together on both offense and defense. Look out for the Peyton Manning to Julius Thomas connection this season if week 1 was any indication (3 touchdowns thrown to Thomas).

SFhelmetSan Francisco 49ers: 7/1 – Won 28-17 at Cowboys. Cowboys QB Tony Romo basically handed the game to the Niners with his poor decisions on his 3 interceptions in the 1st half. I’m not sure we learned too much about the 49ers in week 1 due to their opponent. There’s a lot of rumors about coach Jim Harbaugh losing the locker room so that will be something interesting to follow throughout the season. The most intriguing thing to me about this team after week 1 was rookie backup running back Carlos Hyde, he looked explosive in averaging 7.1 yards in his 7 carries. He could have big play potential.

NEhelmetNew England Patriots: 12/1 – Lost 33-20 at Dolphins. For the first time since QB Tom Brady took over as the starter the Patriots are in sole possession of last place in the AFC East. I wouldn’t look too much in to to that however. I was a bit surprised the Dolphins outscored the Patriots 23-0 in the 2nd half. New England’s offense and defense both seemed to lack something, but I know they still have the talent.

NOhelmetNew Orleans Saints: 14/1 –  Lost 37-34 (ot) at Falcons. Despite their 37-34 overtime loss at Atlanta the Saints offense looked close to its’ normal self. The defense had a very hard time slowing down QB Matt Ryan, that could cause a little bit of concern. Rookie wide receiver Brandin Cooks showed some of his skills and looks like he could become a big time favorite of QB Drew Brees. Adding Cooks to an already good offense should make opposing defenses shiver.

GBhelmetGreen Bay Packers: 16/1 – Lost 36-16 at Seahawks. Even though they got crushed by 20 against the Seahawks I’m not sure we got an accurate gauge on the Packers because their opponent is in a class of their own above the rest. QB Aaron Rodgers was hounded by the Seattle defense and didn’t put up his usual spectacular numbers. The biggest concern after week 1 is the health of 2nd year starting running back Eddie Lacy as he suffered a concussion.

This should come as no surprise, after week 1 the best bet to win Super Bowl XLIX is the Seattle Seahawks at 7/2. (Bet365)
