Odds to Win 2015 NFL SUPER BOWL XLIX after week 8

Let’s take a look at the top 6 odds to win Super Bowl XLIX (according to Bet365) and who I think will win based on what I saw in week 8 of the 2014 NFL Season, this is something I will do each week during the season.

Team: current Bet365 odds – weekly result  (season record)

Denver Broncos: 9/4- Won 35-21 vs Chargers. (6-1)  The Broncos have now won 4 in a row after their 35-21 home win versus the Chargers last Thursday night. The team is 7th in the league in passing yards and 29th in rushing yards. They rank 1st in points with 32 points per game. Their defense is 4th in the league in yards allowed per game and 6th in the league in points allowed with 20.3 per game. This week they play at 6-2 New England.

SeattlehelmetSeattle Seahawks: 8/1 – Won 13-9 at Panthers. (4-3) The Seahawks ended their 2 game slide with a tough-nosed 13-9 win at the Panthers. The team is 28th in the league in passing yards and 2nd in rushing yards. They rank 13th in the league in points with 24.6 points per game. Their defense is 5th in the league in yards allowed per game and 10th in the league in points allowed with 21.4 per game. This week they play at home versus 0-7 Oakland.

Green Bay Packers: 10/1 – Lost 44-23 at Saints. (5-3)  The Packers had their 4 game win streak snapped with a 44-23 loss at New Orleans on Sunday night. The team is 12th in the league in passing yards and 24th in rushing yards. They rank 6th in the league in points with 27.8 points per game. Their defense is 23rd in the league in yards allowed per game and 19th in the league in points allowed with 23.9 per game. This week is their bye week.

NEhelmetNew England Patriots: 10/1 – Won 51-23 vs Bears. (6-2) The Patriots won their 4th in a row with a 51-23 trouncing of the Bears in New England. The team is 10th in the league in passing yards and 17th in rushing yards. They rank 3rd in the league in points with 29.8 points per game. Their defense is 12th in the league in yards allowed per game and 14th in the league in points allowed with 22.1 per game. This week they play at home versus 6-1 Denver.

San Francisco 49ers: 14/1 -Bye week. (4-3) The 49ers had their bye week last week. The team is 19th in the league in passing yards and 10th in rushing yards. They rank 21st in points with 22.6 points per game. Their defense is 2nd in the league in yards allowed per game and 20th in the league in points allowed with 23.6 per game. This week they play at home versus 2-5 St. Louis.

Arizona Cardinals: 16/1 – Won 24-20 vs Eagles. (6-1)  The Cardinals have won 3 straight and not sit atop the NFC after their 24-20 victory at home versus the Eagles.. The team is 15th in the league in passing yards and 28th in rushing yards. They rank 15th in points with 23.4 points per game. Their defense is 27th in the league in yards allowed per game and 5th in the league in points allowed with 19.9 per game. This week they play at 6-2 Dallas.

Due to their 20-17 overtime loss at home to the Redskins, my favorite from last week, the Chargers, have moved out of the top 6 in odds. This week I’m on the Broncos bandwagon. After being reluctant to have them as my favorite the first 8 weeks of the season I am now convinced they are the team to beat after their impressive 14 point win versus the Chargers. Their passing game looking unstoppable but now you add in their rushing attack with Ronnie Hillman and they look super. Their defense is vastly improved over last year’s squad which makes this team just frighteningly good.  Therefore, the Denver Broncos are the best bet to win Super XLIX at 9/4.
