The Champions League Finals takes place this Saturday in Cardiff, Wales between Real Madrid and Juventus. Real Madrid is looking to become the first repeat champion since AC Milan won the tournament back to back in 1989 and 1990. Real Madrid would also record their 3rd win in 4 years, which would truly cement this Real Madrid team as a dynasty and one of the best teams of all-time.
Juventus is looking for a better result than when they lost to Barcelona 3-1 in the Champions League Finals a couple of years ago. Both Real Madrid and Juventus won their respective leagues this season, so both teams are in great form and having solid years both at home and in Europe.
I will be looking at the odds from Bet365.com, which is our top rated sportsbook for betting on any sports online.
Champions League Finals Odds
The odds for this match are actually much closer than I would have anticipated with Real Madrid only a slight favourite. Here are the current 1×2 odds from Bet365.com:
- Juventus 2.90
- Draw 3.20
- Real Madrid 2.60
Of course, there will be a winner at the end of Saturday, so you can also wager on the “To Lift Trophy” odds from Bet365.com as well:
- Juventus 2.00
- Real Madrid 1.83
At these odds I’m not sure how you don’t take Real Madrid to get the job done in the finals.
Both teams had difficult roads to the Finals, but Real Madrid knocked off some very solid competition including Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals and Bayern Munich in the quarters. That said, Juventus also had to knock off Barcelona in the quarters, while not giving the high powered offense any openings winning 3-0 on aggregate.
This is definitely a battle between the offensive firepower of Real Madrid and the defense first club play of Juventus. As much as it was impressive for Juventus to clean sheet Barcelona two games straight I’m not convinced they will be able to repeat the feat against a Real Madrid side that boasts the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez looking to put the ball in the back of your net.
Real Madrid was only kept to less than two goals once in the tournament, which was their semi-final second leg against Atletico Madrid, which they went into up 3-0 so their focus was on defense.
As great as this Juventus team has been on the defensive side of the ball, only allowing 1 goal in 6 knockout stage games and 2 goals in 6 group stage games, I can’t help but think that Real Madrid will find a way through this defense at some point.
Play: Real Madrid 2.60
There is some risk involved in that bet because there is definitely a chance that Juventus once again keeps a clean sheet. If that’s the case and this match goes to extra time and possibly penalties then it could really go either way. This is why my favourite bet on the board is a Double Chance bet with Real Madrid or Draw, eliminating Juventus winning in the first 90 minutes.
Play: Real Madrid or Draw 1.42
