Eli has excelled in big games throughout his career.
Monday Night Football is a huge game each week, with the game being played on National TV in front of a massive audience. This week the game will be held between Eli Manning’s New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles who are being led by Sam Bradford. This is a massive game for both teams, with the NFC East completely up for grabs this year. The Giants are currently sitting atop the division with a 3-2 record, but each of the other three teams, including the Eagles, are within striking distance at 2-3.
It’s crazy to think that the Giants could very easily be 5-0 at this point in the season. They lost their week 1 and 2 games by blowing huge leads in the fourth quarter and the mistakes that resulted in the losses were really bonehead plays that are not expected from Eli and company. The Giants weren’t expected to be a very good team this year, but when you consider that they could easily be 5-0 you have to start giving this team credit. If they can get their fourth quarter figured out they could be one of the better teams in the NFL this season.
The Eagles on the other hand had big hopes coming into the season. Chip Kelly was able to build his team to fit his scheme and many experts thought this could be the Eagles year to become a legitimate contender. It hasn’t really worked out that way with the Eagles having a lot of difficulty generating offense the first four weeks, before having a bit of a coming out party against New Orleans last week in a 39-17 win.

My Picks
I’m surprised to see the Giants as such big underdogs in this game. I guess bettors think that the Eagles have finally got things figured out after having their way with the Saints. I personally need to see a little bit more because they were just that bad in some of their earlier games.
The Giants on the other hand have been a very good team through 3 quarters in every game this year. If Odell Beckham Jr. can’t go then I could see the offense having trouble, but if he can go I think there is enough options for the Giants to be able to move the ball against a very solid defense.
Speaking of moving the ball I’m expecting Eli to have a good game. He’s played pretty well since making those silly mistakes in the first couple weeks and this is a guy that excels under pressure. Monday Night Football always brings with it a lot of pressure and I would much rather have Eli than Bradford in this game.
