Odds to Win 2015 NFL SUPER BOWL XLIX after week 7

Let’s take a look at the top 6 odds to win Super Bowl XLIX (according to Bet365) and who I think will win based on what I saw in week 7 of the 2014 NFL Season, this is something I will do each week during the season.

Team: current Bet365 odds – weekly result  (season record)

Denver Broncos: 5/2- Won 42-17 vs 49ers. (5-1)  The Broncos won by 14 or more points for the 3rd straight week as they demolished San Francisco 42-17. Running back Ronnie Hillman rushed 14 times for 74 yards and 2 scores. Wide receiver Demaryius Thomas caught 8 passes for 171 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Denver defense sacked Niners QB Colin Kaepernick 6 times and intercepted him once. This week they play at home versus 5-2 San Diego on Thursday night. San Francisco.

Green Bay Packers: 15/2 – Won 38-17 vs Panthers. (5-2)  The Packers won their 4th straight as they handled Carolina 38-17. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers was 19 of 22 for 255 yards and 3 touchdowns with no interceptions. Running back Eddie Lacy ran the ball 12 times for 63 yards and a score. Wide receiver Randall Cobb had 6 receptions for 121 yards and a touchdown. Receiver Jordy Nelson caught 4 balls for 80 yards and a score. The Green Bay defense sacked Panthers QB Cam Netwon 3 times and intercepted him one time. This week they play at 2-4 New Orleans on Sunday night.

SeattlehelmetSeattle Seahawks: 9/1 – Lost 28-26 at Rams. (3-3) The Seahawks lost for the 2nd straight week as they were defeated 28-26 at St. Louis. The team was done in by 2 special teams plays by the Rams, one a trick punt return that resulted in a 90 yard touchdown and the other a fake punt very late in the 4th quarter that allowed the Rams to run the clock out and seal the victory. Despite the loss quarterback Russell Wilson became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for over 300 yards and rush for over 100 yards in the same game. In the air Wilson was 23 of 36 for 313 yards and 2 touchdowns with no interceptions. On the ground Wilson rushed 7 times for 106 yards and a score. Wide receiver Doug Baldwin became the primary receiving threat for the team (after the surprise trade of Percy Harvin) as he caught 7 balls for 123 yards and 1 touchdown. This week they play at 3-3 Carolina.

NEhelmetNew England Patriots: 10/1 – Won 27-25 vs Jets. (5-2) The Patriots won their 3rd straight game as they were victorious 27-25 at home versus the Jets last Thursday night. Defensive tackle Chris Jones blocked the Jets’ game ending 58 yard field goal try to seal the victory for New England. Quarterback Tom Brady was 20 of 37 for 261 yards and 3 touchdowns with no interceptions. Running back Shane Vereen carried the ball 11 times for 43 but also caught 5 balls for 71 yards and 2 scores. The Jets had 423 total yards to the Patriots’ 323. The Pats only had 16 first downs compared to the Jets’ 28. The New England sacked New York QB Geno Smith 3 times. This week they play at home versus 3-4 Chicago.

Dallas Cowboys: 10/1 – Won 31-21 vs Giants. (6-1) The Cowboys won for an impressive 6th time in a row as they defeated the Giants 31-21. Quarterback Tony Romo was 17 of 23 for 279 yards and 3 touchdowns with 1 interception. Running back DeMarco Murray ran for over 100 yards for the 7th straight game as he ran the ball 28 times for 128 yards and a score. Wide receiver Dez Bryant caught 9 balls for 151 yards. Tight end Gavin Escobar had 3 receptions for 65 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Dallas defense recovered 2 Giants’ fumbles. This week they play at home versus 2-5 Washington.

Indianapolis Colts: 14/1 – Won 27-0 vs Bengals. (5-2)  The Colts ran their record to 5-2 after their 5th straight victory 27-0 versus the Bengals. Quarterback Andrew Luck was 27 of 42 for 344 yards and 2 touchdowns with no interceptions. The 2-headed running back monster of Trent Richardson and Ahmad Bradshaw combined for 129 rushing yards and 1 touchdown. Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton caught 7 balls for 107 yards. The Indianapolis defense held Cincinnati a lowly 135 total yards. They sacked Bengals QB Andy Dalton 4 times. The Bengals managed only 8 first downs to the Colts’ 27. This week they play at 4-3 Pittsburgh.

Due to their 23-20 loss at home to the Chiefs, my favorite from last week, the Chargers, have moved out of the top 6 in odds. This week I’m really liking the Cowboys. They have finally figured out that if they use their running game, led by DeMarco Murray, it takes a lot of the pressure off the shoulders of Tony Romo and he can free flow in the offense much better. Of course it must be mentioned that Murray has been amazing at the start of this season. For the time being the Dallas Cowboys are the best bet to win Super XLIX at 10/1. (Bet365)
